Cash is a song about money, what it makes people do and the way the world turns when they do it.
I recorded this song with the thought of being cash itself.
The lyrics question the listener as to what they would do for big money?
It makes people think of what THEY WOULD or WOULD NOT do – and what motivates others to do it.
So you think that money is the root of all evil. Have you ever asked what is the root of all money? Ayn Rand
The 9-5 and the city overwhelm the true nature of man. It seems people are becoming robots
with and without the need for nano technology. Oil drilling and space exploration destroy
mother Earth and Space. All the destruction and chaos – for what? Is it just for cash? Is there more behind the need for money
and world domination and total governance? Are new technological inventions created for our “needs” – who
will determine the future of the human race? Us? Them? The Computers?
Currencies move more than just money around the world, e-currencies and virtual currencies are the new exchange current.
What are the consequences of this shift for us? The veil has been lifted.
1984 nanny state, Supercomputer, Cern, Space & Time Travel, Artifical Intelligence, Pre-crime – all becoming a reality.
Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness.
The more of it one has the more one wants. Benjamin Franklin
The video is animated by Darragh Mason. He worked on the project over a period of 6 months and created a unique visual that reflects my intentions in the song.
Produced by YeloFilm in London video. Darragh captured the dynamic energy in the song with a fast moving, dark, pulsing fluidity.
I invited dancers to perform a routine to be used in the animation and you will find Darragh has used clips throughout the video.
Every line, colour in the video is hand drawn by Darragh. It has elements of live action enveloped in parts.
I like to feature dancers in my music videos as it expresses the groove through movement; Music and Dance go hand in hand!
I was completely amazed when i first saw the visual with the music ; it was a perfect representation of the song -the characters, backgrounds, movement, colours, style of drawing and syncopation.
Darragh is an extremely talented artist, a pleasure to work with and very professional.
Anybody who thinks money will make you happy, hasn’t got money. David Geffen
With economic collapse around the corner – the world and its inhabitants need a defragmentation.
I hope people will see whats important in their life, on a micro and macro level.
Most importantly – stay human and stay unique. Zena Shaw
