Cash is a song about money, what cash makes people do and the way the world turns.
I recorded this song with the thought of being cash itself. I voiced the song in a speech or talking tone, expressive and determined. The lyrics stimulates people think of what they would or would NOT do for big money.
So you think that money is the root of all evil. Have you ever asked what is the root of all money? Ayn Rand
The 9-5 and the city overwhelm the true nature of man. It seems people are becoming robots
with and without the need for nano-technology. Oil drilling and space exploration destroy
Mother Earth and Space, causing destruction and chaos – for what reason? Is it just for the “cash”? Is there more behind the need for money, world domination and total governance? Are new technological inventions created for our “needs”? Who
will determine the future of the human race? Us? “Them”? The SuperComputers? Is all this new technology really benefiting us?
Currencies move more than just money around the world, e-currencies and virtual currencies are the new exchange current. What are the consequences of this shift for us?
1984 nanny state, Supercomputer, Cern, Space & Time Travel, Artifical Intelligence and Pre-crime – all becoming a reality.
Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness.
The more of it one has the more one wants. Benjamin Franklin
The video is animated by Darragh Mason and produced by YeloFilm in London.
Darragh worked on the project over a period of 6 months and created a unique visual that reflects my intentions in the song. He captured the dynamic energy in the song with a fast moving, dark, pulsing fluidity. Every artistic line in the video is hand drawn by Darragh. I am intrigued by Darragh’s portfolio of work – he has a very organic artistic line/style in his work.
I invited dancers to perform a routine to be used in the animation and you will find Darragh has used clips throughout the video.I like to feature dancers in my music videos as it expresses the musical energy through movement; Music and Dance go hand in hand! Darragh was happy to accommodate my request.
I was completely amazed when i first saw the visual with the music ; it was a perfect representation of the song – the characters, backgrounds, movement, colours, style of drawing and syncopation. Darragh introduces us to the pulsing city via an underground tube ride; we see the characters with their gas masks on taking their monotonous journey to work, Foreign exchange rate information are shown throughout the video; characters are under full surveillance by guards and cameras. The one eye symbology is shown peering over all and everything; it is always there. We see the characters are RF chipped on the side of their heads as they continue the cycle to keep the current moving. Bombs are dropped, wars are started – fat cats profit. The veil has been lifted.
Darragh is an extremely talented artist, a pleasure to work with and very professional.
Anybody who thinks money will make you happy, hasn’t got money. David Geffen
With economic collapse around the corner – the world and its inhabitants need a defragmentation.
I hope people will see whats important in their life, on a micro and macro level.
Most importantly – stay human and stay unique. Zena Shaw
